I have been pet sitting since 2002. We watched a friend's dogs over the holidays. Stephanie and I have been a pet sitting and dog walking team ever since.
My most notable experience with animals was volunteering for animal protection & rescue organizations near New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. At the Lamar-Dixon temporary shelter in Gonzales, Louisiana, I fed and walked the animals in the VMAT, the section for extremely sick and injured animals.
I started petsitting in 2002 along with Adam. Since I also worked for The Humane Society of the United States at the time, I slowly built a clientele of fellow pet-lovers. While at The HSUS, I completed a three day Disaster Animal Rescue Training and helped care for rescued animals after Hurricane Katrina. Also, while attending University of Maryland, I worked as a receptionist at Lynn Animal Hospital in Riverdale, MD.
Being an animal lover is a family tradition. My brother is a
groomer, my mom is finishing training at Animal Behavioral College, and
my aunt and uncle run asanctuaryfor special-needs animals!
Last but not least, Adam and I have 3 cats- Dean, Meemaw, and Cinnamon.
